Adapted is a textile design project that explores textile printing techniques and the themes of webs, nets and transformations. It consists of experiments on printed fabrics and a conceptual collection of textiles with layers of wool, linen, and cotton fabrics sewn or printed together and treated with pigment and crepe printing and felting to explore fabric shrinking and various surface deformations.
The project is inspired by how different beings with different features modify each other when they are bound together and exposed to external forces. In relation to another, one’s role changes; it becomes softer or harder, more adaptive or rigid. Connected with each other, they are forced to change their shape.
